GOVERNOR’S SKY SAFARI
6 Days
‘For some, it is the crossroads in their lives, an emotional rebirth, a lightening of the spirit at the sight of so many animals and so much space’. Governors’ opened Kenya’s first exclusive safari camp in the early 1970s and today it still upholds the best-kept traditions. This safari is small and exclusive, where days are spent on game drives, and boating in the Rift Valley. Expect the guides to be excellent, food delightful and accommodation very comfortable. Governors’ provides a ‘home from home’ service, with all meals and activities included . The team is very flexible and tries to tailor all activities around its guests. At Loldia, activities include guided boat-rides and trips to Lake Nakuru and Hell’s Gate National Parks and visit to the local flower farms and a local school.
From the Masai Mara, why not think about 4 days extension on Lake Victoria’s Mfangano Island. Here the comfortable lodge overlooks the picturesque lake and activities are mainly done by boat. They include fishing, sightseeing, walking and bird-watching. However, we recommend you come here to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Flights work perfectly from the Mara.
DAY 1 Nairobi - Naivasha
Morning transfer ex-Nairobi City Centre to Wilson Airport for the scheduled flight to Naivasha (depart Nairobi 1000hrs and arrives in Naivasha at 1020hrs). Upon arrival, transfer by lodge vehicle, followed by lunch and an afternoon activity in this beautiful area.
Overnight at Loldia House on a full board and activities basis including mineral water, all soft drinks, beers and house wines and laundry.
LOLDIA HOUSE
The early settlers found vast herds of game, huge numbers of predators and a profusion of birdlife around these spectacular lakes. They lived an outdoor lifestyle: riding, hunting, fishing and walking. Loldia House was established by a settler who arrived by ox-wagon just after the Boer War and its still owned by the same family today. Nestled under acacia and wild fig trees on the western shores of Lake Naivasha, there are just a handful of comfortable double rooms with en suite bathrooms here. The cuisine and the service are both absolutely first rate. The farm is ideally situated to visit the flamingo lakes of Nakuru and Elementaita, with Nakuru offering excellent viewing chances for white rhino seen amongst an abundance of other bird and animal life. The 6,500 acres of farm is well stocked with herds of cattle and a flock of farmed ostriches, interspersed with impala, waterbuck and other plains game. Boat trips may be arranged on Lake Naivasha for fishing and bird-watching, and visits can be made to Hell's Gate National Park with its spectacular canyon, hot springs and high raptor population. Activities are tailor made for each guest.

Governors' Camp
Governors' Camp lies on the banks of the Mara River in the west of the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The camp is in a spot once reserved for the colonial governors of Kenya and their royal visitors. When created in 1972, it set new standards in luxury as a tented camp, placing particular emphasis on comfort and service. Maintaining these qualities, the camp has been refined and improved over the years. However, special care has been taken to preserve an atmosphere in which today's traveller may share some of the experiences of a classic safari and enjoy the landscape and wildlife that so inspired adventurers such as Hemingway. Tents are carefully positioned for uninterrupted views from their verandas and are stylishly decorated. Niceties such as early morning tea and ginger biscuits are brought to your tent and daily meals are absolutely delicious. Many people dress up for dinner! Activities are extremely flexible with walking and 4x4 safaris offered.
