Kusini Camp

 

Perfectly set in the remote southern part of the Serengeti, Sanctuary Kusini's location was specially selected after much research by our guides and the local experts. It overlooks the plains where games are a common sight all year round. Built around a spectacular rocky outcrop and on the path of the wildebeest migration, the camp is ideal for seeing cheetah and wildebeest that congregate on the grassy plains in the calving season from mid-December to March. 

 

Part of Sanctuary Kusini's charm is its remote and private location within the park, offering exceptional and essentially private game viewing. Built around a spectacular rocky outcrop, or kopje, the camp's communal areas include a dining area, lounge and library, as well as a campfire. The views from the kopje are simply sensational - the perfect spot for sundowners and stargazing. The library is stocked with reference books to read up on the day's discoveries, and of course, our experienced guides are always on hand to fill in about local knowledge where books cannot. Like all Sanctuary properties, Sanctuary Kusini is designed to have minimal environmental impact; in fact the camp can be packed up and removed without leaving a trace.

 

The open-plan en-suite twelve tents at Sanctuary Kusini are shaded from the sun by acacia trees and all are positioned carefully with thought out views of the surrounding plains and extremely spacious at 48 square metres. Each tent has its own personal attendant to look after guests during their stay. A large private wooden veranda with comfortable furnishings extends in front of each tent, with many having views of the plains below where zebra, buffalo and lion are a common sight year-round, the ideal spot to relax for a sundowner after a hot restorative shower.

 

 

Day 01

Morning transfer to Arusha Airport for a scheduled flight to Serengeti South Airstrip (flight booked by Ranger Safaris).  The flight departs at 0800 and arrives at 0950.  On arrival, you are met by the camp’s driver and proceed by road to the camp.

You have a chance to relax and settle in at the camp.  After lunch, you participate in a scheduled shared game drive within Serengeti National Park.  Dinner and overnight at the camp with soft drinks, coffee, tea, bottled water, juices, house wine, domestic beer and non-premium local spirits included.

Day 02

You participate in morning and afternoon scheduled shared game drive within Serengeti National Park with meals and overnight at the camp with soft drinks, coffee, tea, bottled water, juices, house wine, domestic beer and non-premium local spirits included.

Day 03

You have a last chance to view the wildlife as you transfer to the airstrip.  You fly by scheduled flight back to Arusha (flight booked by Ranger Safaris).  The flight departs at 1100 and arrives at 1215.  You are met on arrival and transferred to Arusha Town Centre to connect to your onward arrangements.
