Serengeti Serena Lodge

 

Set high on the saddle of a tree-clad ridge, commanding panoramic views across the Serengeti, this lodge is the ultimate fusion of traditional African architecture and world-class style. Centrally located adjacent to the famous Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to blend completely into the living landscape. A series of traditional domed ‘rondavels' are widely spaced throughout the grounds, which are cooled by groves of acacia trees and watered by sparkling streams. On the very edge of the ridge is a ‘vanishing horizon' pool, which looks out over the ‘endless plains' after which the Serengeti is named.

Situated close to the world-famous 2-million-year-old Palaeolithic site of Ol Duvai, ‘birthplace of mankind', the lodge has been styled to offer a showcase of cultural performance, heritage and traditional art, which is best illustrated by the lavish Makonde carvings which decorate both the rooms and the stunning domed dining room.

Day 01

Morning transfer to Arusha Airport for a scheduled flight to the airstrip in Serengeti National Park (flight booked by Ranger Safaris).  The flight departs at 0800 and arrives Seronera at 1030.  On arrival, you are met by the lodge’s driver and proceed by road to the lodge.

You have a chance to relax and settle in at the lodge.  After lunch, you participate in a scheduled shared game viewing activity.  Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 02

You participate in morning and afternoon scheduled shared game drives in Serengeti National Park with meals and overnight at the lodge.

Day 03

You have a last chance to view the wildlife as you transfer to the airstrip.  You fly by scheduled flight back to Arusha (flight booked by Ranger Safaris).  The flight departs at 1100 from Seronera airstrip and arrives at 1215.  You are met on arrival and transferred to Arusha Town Centre to connect to your onward arrangements.
