Manta Resort Pemba Island

Manta resort is situated on the northern tip of Pemba Island, which is reached by a 30 min flight from Zanzibar Island. Other connections are possible from Dar Es Salam or Arusha on mainland Tanzania. On arrival at Pemba’s ChakeChake Aiport you transfer by taxi to the resort which will take about 1.5 hrs.

Manta Resort is not a five star luxury resort, but more a rustic hideaway retreat on a remote island off the coast of mainland East Africa, probably as far away from civilisation as you might find yourself.

Most meals are served on the main verandah overlooking the ocean but move to the pool deck and beach for a change of scenery when possible.
 

Our team will treat you to a variety of fresh locally caught seafood as well as beef, chicken and vegetable dishes, some of which have a distinct Pemba touch to them. At the rear of the terrace you will enjoy our excellent food – at night under the stars. The lounge provides comfortable seating where you can socialise. We regularly have communal dining when you may get to know your fellow guests. Try our freshly made juices from locally grown fruit or milk straight from the coconut!

Our standard rooms are open plan makuti thatched rooms situated in our gardens. They all feature a centered king size bed covered by a mosquito net, open plan en-suite bathroom, and a comfortable verandah to relax on. These rooms offer great value and are part of our all-inclusive product. They are not air conditioned, but do have a fan in the room.

Two pairs make up the four Superior Garden Rooms with views of the sea between the foliage. Each pair of rooms have an interconnecting door which makes it an excellent choice for families or larger groups. The Superior Garden Rooms are air conditioned with a king size four poster bed and private makuti thatch covered terrace.

The Sea Front Villas are air conditioned, spacious and private, with a centered king size bed and large en-suite bathroom. A secluded sun terrace faces a spectacular ocean sunset.

The one and only Underwater Room. A private floating island with your bedroom four meters below the surface. It is yours to enjoy while sunbathing and stargazing on the top deck, lounging and dining on the water deck and sleeping surrounded by a tropical marine environment.
